It's not about the snob level, it's about the text contradicting that you need to sell the record out of financial problems. I think you just joined this board to advertise your sale...but that's just what I think.

krisjat say: I'm not sure I understand the high shipping cost, I'm charging $4.00 USD dollars to ship in US, and the rest of world is whatever the actual cost is, so I'm lost on how the shipping is high, explain how 4 bucks is high, and actual cost for the rest of world is high, please explain.
I reply:
in your sale, you request for shipping costs: 31.05 USD (27.05 USD more expensive than the cost of shipping to the U.S.. I purchased many items from around the world, and I have never paid so much money to shipping costs for vinyl. optymal price for shipping cost is 10 or 15 usd , maximun. I now also have checked your ad on ebay, and you have already lowered the cost for your item to 200 usd. because after all our criticisms you real, you have done this price change?

I still don't know what you are talking about, I am charging 4 USD shipping in the US, and I only ship Priority Internationally, maybe that is why you see a high shipping to your area. I ship priority internationally, if you don't like it don't buy it obviously, and yes , if so many people feel it was high, why not reduce it, I am not a bad guy, so with so many saying it was high, I lowered it. And now it is lower in cost than what you yourself said was fair, so I can see no more saying it is to high, and also a free 1st press Careless Memories 12" goes to the winner, all in all it is now a more than fair price, and I hope someone will take it off the ripoff list, but if not oh well, I know it is fair. I guess that is what my whole problem has been, I have 100% Ebay status, I don't rip people off, so most said it was unfair, so I lowered it to what like I ,even you said was fair, actually lower than what you said was fair. That should be that. I DON'T RIP PEOPLE OFF IS WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAY IN A LONG WAY!!!

Very valid points on some issues, but you stated that I said 6 were pressed, I said maybe 6 were left in the world(real ones). That's odd. No reply on page 1 of this thread stated that you had said that 6 were pressed. Am I missing something here? Are we reading the same thread? Point is, you're dealing with a very knowledgeable group of collectors here, so it would probably be best to be a bit more respectful to us than just make us out to be clueless.

hahahaha. i went away for a couple of days and look what i missed. he's posted his ad in 3 sections on the board and on page 2 of this didn't he say he was finished with dragging it on and here we are on page 5 and it's still going.
i repeat my sentiments of the post i made in the for sale section. there is NO SUCH THING as a fan club released bootleg. the dd club was based in england and they never released any vinyl save for one purple flexi disc. it's the oldest bootlegger's trick to call something a fan club issue. in fact, people are still doing that now with cds.
>>Point is, you're dealing with a very knowledgeable group of collectors here, so it would probably be best to be a bit more respectful to us than just make us out to be clueless.
amen brother!!
what sort of dopey bootlegger would spend thousands of dollars making 6 copies of a record. that makes me laugh out loud!
and he keeps saying that other copies must be copies...bootlegging the bootleg. LOL that's too funny...normally when a bootlegger stole from someone else, he didn't bother doing an exact replica of the art and the labels and all that. case in point would be the live oakland boots. one has a green and black cover and the other has a b&w photo copied cover. they both use the same source, but it is always cheaper to make your own crappy art and print that that to duplicate someone else's art and make it look convincing. it's not unheard of, i'll give you that, but if it was true, you could tell by looking at it. it would be slightly fuzzy and the colours wouldn't look the same. like making a copy of a photo not using the neg, but just the photo. remember, these boots were done in the 80s before colour copiers and digital imaging.
if you really are needing the money, i am sorry to hear it. times are tough and i would dread having to sell any of my dd records. even things i have extra copies of. so i hope you do find a good home for it and get some money to make things a little better.

It truly amazes me how so many people have a real copy of an LP that was only issued to fan club members in the early 80's, alot of you must have been members of the French fan club, who knew. You all should really research things. Well, I bought mine @ a record show back in the mid-80s, so I am sure mine is an authentic copy. I don't know how often people make copies of these things now, but back then, you pretty much got what was out there. When someone copied something then, it was usually REALLY obvious. (This is based on my experience.) And for the record, I am NOT a snob, so please don't lump me into that group. I am just a devoted Duranie from the beginning and collector since I picked up the 12" of ITSISK. I fell in love with having their records and wanted to have all of them. I was lucky enough to have a good job for a while back then and I lived @ home, so for a couple of years, I went to a lot of record shows and learned a lot.

The troublemaker that started all of this has been banned from the forums from what I can tell.
