As much as we would all like to hear the new music, we can't share it here. This includes asking for it to be sent by PM. If you get the songs from another source, please don't post links here. Thanks!

I just found this board not long ago - and I have to say that hands down it's probably one of the best, if not THE best DD message board out there. This place has an excellent mix of people - both those that are way positive, those that are far more realistic, and some that like to stir crap up. It all makes for a healthy, fun board to be on. I remember the days when dd.com was shut down - to be honest, that place seemed like a cesspool to me and I was happy to see it go - but I remember Mark setting this place up (I was a very quiet member of dd.com back then). I had another board to go to at the time, so I didn't visit here much. DDM is an OK place, but I find that most there are a little too willing to love anything the band does - it's not uncommon to read someone say that Simon could get up on stage and burp into the microphone and they'd love it. That's fine for them if that's really the way they feel - but that's not me, so I've never really felt totally comfortable there. My old board (duranduranfans.com) was a fantastic place at one time, but most everyone has moved on to just communicating on facebook - it's sad. I don't really go there at all anymore, so this has become home. (I know you all are rolling your eyes at that one and that's fine. Suffer with me, suckers!! ) Regardless, I'd hate to see this place closed because of some jackwagon who *had* to have the new song and blab about it, share it and ruin it for everyone else. I'm afraid that would cause me to blog....at considerable length...on dailyduranie.com about it. (like the plug?? LOL) THINK people!!

Why did the thread re the Medeterenia EP and AYNIN downloads ?
It's not as if those people who benifited through iTunes f___ up were sending the download about.
Surely the thread should have remained so anyone invovled with DD can see Apples incompetence allowing the f___ up to happen in the first place !!!

because the threads were turning into "oooh! anyone get this please PM me I want it!" and that's not good for the board because if the tracks did start spreading like wildfire it could be traced back to here and Mark not doing anything about it. As for DD knowing it was Apple's cock-up... I'm sure they already know... Fair enough, keeping the forum's integrity is important. I find it funny that DD fans just happened to be searching iTunes at the time of the 'leaked' tracks, sometimes stuff gets leaked to create a stir but in this case it looks like an error on the part of apple.

I don't think so, I think it was made on purpose.

I don't think so, I think it was made on purpose. It was definitely made on purpose. They are definitely promoting the album in a clever way!

I think it's probably more likely they were just testing the link but didn't account for fans browsing during the night!

I think it's probably more likely they were just testing the link but didn't account for fans browsing during the night! Some coincidence though, bit like the time I just happened to be checking my email and there was a link to buy tickets for the Kentish Town Forum show in 2003 and got lucky when 250,000 tried for 3000!!!

There's certainly a precedent for this sort of fuck-up on iTunes. Maybe five years ago the new Cat Power album showed up on iTunes one week before it was meant to.
I don't know if it's even possible for Duran Duran to be involved in this. It's not like the band gets to flip a switch on the official release date to put the music out there. Once it's in Apple's hands, I doubt the band has any control beyond delaying the release beforehand. Leaking elsewhere, maybe. But I can't picture a scenario where this could have anything to do with Duran Duran wanting to create a buzz.
