Some grassroots social media things YOU can do to help AYNIN be successful. First, share every DD Facebook status update on your wall and retweet to your followers. This is far and away the thing that will have the most impact. Word of mouth has always been the best and most cost-effective advertisement and social media makes it easier for advertisers (and bands, and fans of bands) to spread that word of mouth. Facebook will soon debut a search engine that is based on the likes and dislikes of your friends. Powerful stuff. Another thing we can do to help is reach out to casual Duran fans that may have not followed the band since 1983. Get Duran’s name mentioned in the same places as Depeche Mode, Mark Ronson, Ellen Degeneres, etc. On Twitter, where Depeche Mode has over 600,000 followers and Ellen has over 5 Million, you can include names in your posts w/ a link to the Duran page. For example: #depechemode followers should also follow duranduran and check out their killer new album--a return to their new wave roots! What other people do Duran share a demographic audience with? Oprah? U2? Whenever possible, include a link to AYNIN on iTunes in your posts. Links to duranduran.com, facebook.com/duranduran, etc. are helpful as well. Especially in blogs. itunes.apple.com/us/artist/duran-duran/id487384?ign-mpt=uo%3D4Or use this Tiny URL: tinyurl.com/2889yetMy suggestions above are based on real life experience. It’s part of what I do for a living and can tell you for a fact this stuff really works when you get behind it. Anyone else have some grassroots suggestions?

great ideas skoog!
also, try to think of artists that you know are dd sympathizers. there's tons!
ex- korn, barenaked ladies, no doubt, moby, etc and make sure you let them know in the manner that the skoog mentioned above.
the more people who know there's a new album, the better the chances that it grabs a little traction and gets some action!

Ellen's producer Andy is also a huge Duranie. I sent a Tweet a while ago to mention the new album but I will send another and also mention Ellen. Also, we are trying to help it rend. If you can leave room in your post to add #AYNIN and #DuranDuran somewhere in the post, it would help to get it out there.
