I recently found this on the Internet.... duranduran.wikia.com/wiki/File:Ticket_duran_duran_hollywood_sportatorium_hollywood_florida_march_27_1984.png....which brought back a flood of great memories of that show almost 30 (WHAT??) years ago. Few things could match the excitement of seeing DD live with my sisters and friends amongst 15,000 other fans. It's funny to realize now that back then we thought THAT ticket price was so expensive for us but, of course, well worth the money. Was anyone else here at the Hollywood show, or any of the others from that tour?

I was only 3 then but I would imagine it must have been amazing! In an age of one million tv channels and the internet, it is easy to forget how magical it must have been to attend a live show, or even just see or hear it broadcast.

In an age of one million tv channels and the internet, it is easy to forget how magical it must have been to attend a live show, or even just see or hear it broadcast. Humanracer: Yes, the times were special and so different back then. You had to wait for an MTV world premier of one of DD's videos, or hit the record stores when a new album was released, or look for your favorite magazine to get another poster to hang on the wall. The pièce de résistance in my career as a young Duranie was, of course, when they came to town - the exictement leading up to the show was almost too much to bear! On a side note: It's funny that shortly after taking this walk down memory lane re: the '84 Hollywood show, DD announces today they will appear in Hollywood on Oct. 12th, a concert we plan to attend. Although we've seen many shows over the years, this will be the first time my sister and I will return to the scene of the crime ;D and see DD perform in the same town we did 27 years after the fact. Bring on the boys!!!

The Richfield Coliseum is nothing more than tall weeds now. Totally gone, not even a trace of the parking lot remains. Everytime I drive by I cannot believe it's gone. *be warned, I have not screened the above video.
