Great article...
See Andy is one weird bird---he is a great guitarist but very very difficult to work with--really not believing that passport story anymore from his book....maybe he will come back if they are inducted in the Hall of Fame--that is the only way I see them working with him for a one time gig or something to that affect--it's a shame if he could have kept his ego in check!!!
He is or was in my opinion the most talented musically in the band....
And as for the more distant future? Well, it's unlikely that that Duran's many fans will ever see another five-member reunion with original guitarist Andy Taylor, who left the band in 1986, rejoined in 2001, and quit again in 2006. "You never say anything is entirely off the cards, but I have to say, Andy is an unusual person to deal with, and my view when I took him on last time was it would have a fuse that would burn quite quickly. I was surprised we made it to five years again!" admits Nick.
But here's to many, many more years of superb Duran Duran style--and substance. And many more years of Simon Le Bon's singing. Shine on, you crazy, glamorous diamonds. Shine on.

I'm suspecting that Nick's use of pronouns in that comment might get a bit of flak among the Andy fans here!

It's curious that Nick refers to Andy in this interview. One thing is for sure : ANDY MUST CHANGE. It's the only way if we want a possible reunion of the original five.

I don't think that's its a matter that Andy must change, or Simon shouldn't be so megolomania or Nick should stop spewing out lists on things - what this band needs is a producer when making albums. They dont need to bring in folks to help write or co-write their music - they can do that on their own.
Mark Ronson is solid enough to be the referee in the room so to speak.
I do like the mystery surrounding their next album - if the biggest news about the next album is that they might work again with Mark - that's fine. But if there's some even bigger news for the next album - well then I'll patiently wait.
At least the band is still going strong and keeping us interested.
