for me, seeing the RCM tour made me appreciate the album a lot more. some of those songs really worked well live. especially THE VALLEY as the show opener.
but i agree with the prior poster who took FALLING DOWN out of the playlist. i am not the biggest fan of that one and feel that, using the best duran parlance i can muster, it is a bit contrived.
but i do feel the clunker award goes to BEDROOM TOYS. yuck! i am not of fan of those lyrics one bit...
and yes, i agree with the other posters who say that AYNIN is a far superior album to RCM and ASTRONAUT as well as being light years ahead of LIBERTY and POP TRASH too.

I like RCM quite a bit. I listen to it, in it's entirety more than Astronaut, Pop Trash, Liberty, Ordinary World, Medazzaland, Thank You...so pretty much at least half their other albums. I don't think there is anything wrong with arrangements of Box Full of Honey or Last Man Standing, etc. They sound perfectly fine to me as they are, and are, imo, beautiful songs. I even like the Timbaland and Timberlake songs. And I think it's got some amazing lyrics on it too and Simon sounds really good.

The Japanese CD only, Cry Baby Cry, is my fave RCM song after The Valley - or at least is tied with 2 or 3 of the actual album cuts for second favorite.

I, too, like RCM very much and even more so with time passing. I like it more than AYNIN. AYNIN feels 'contrived' to me. I can sense the 'let's Rio another one' stitches. I don't think RCM was any less genuine than AYNIN. besides, I like my DD when they try anything different than sticking to a formula. the production on AYNIN is good, but half the songs lack substance and I feel like having eaten a ton of cotton candy when listening to them (much like those on Astronaut). I hope the next Ronson-produced album will a less 'engineered' one. and, yes, the RCM tour was amazing. (when are they going to put out the whole Lyceum show?) I salute vermeerf, my brother in avatar
