She is completely unknown outside the UK. Which is very sad. Many artists are/were that way; huge around the globe but one- or two-hit wonders in the States.

I heard Hazel O' Connor back in the 80s, but my statement was in general about many, many artists of the 70s and 80s in the US. I am still discovering artists and songs that I never heard in the 80s here but were very popular in the rest of the world.

Is the US not "outside the UK"? It was never specified where the original comment came from so why should mynick's comment be invalid.
