Apparently on JT's year end café, he said no new music until at LEAST June.

It's obvious guys. We now know that Duran Duran are trying to appeal to a younger demographic, and that's a tremendously awesome idea. Plus it has been suggested that Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are expecting their first child in April next year.
Releasing in June gives them just enough time to dump most of what they have already done, listen to the baby's feedback, and then finally release an album true to Duran Duran which will appeal to a younger demographic.

This is really distrubring news...I am fine with Duran time I am not fine with them dumping songs they already created to chase a younger demographic! At least release a single in Spring...album can follow in early summer!!

I cannot believe its practically another year off. Mixing is all very well, but Palomino sounds so fresh today it is simply timeless, and yet it contains non of those modern elements. As I always say, layering overdubs and making mixes and remixes is a science which takes ages and ages these days, sometimes to the harm of the music. I will wait patiently. But at this rate it m** b* their last album of all time. I'd rather they went out like urban commandos firing out new songs at every opportunity to audiences to try them out, rather than secretly hide away for the 'big comeback'. Why does there have to be a maximum big surprise? Why go away and leave us for years with no singles or songs to chart their lives and our lives? Why? If they love their audience they wouldn't be so mean to us year after year, and call it Duran time. I mean, I've still got my JOHN TAYLOR YEAR-END MIXTAPE 2013 by Manimal Vinyl from last year (seems like last week). JT can do things like this but yet they cant put together a personal song for x-mas? (Remember the Katy x-mas video from last year??). As a forever fan, I know I wont be going anywhere, but we're not all like Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush fans who can stand a decade without contact. DD produced so much in one decade plus the Decade album, so there really must be some standards guys.

That was way back in the eighties when they still had inspiration....

I would imagine they are partly holding out for a decent record deal and want to plan the release and tour. I get the impression they don't want to release it themselves like all you need is now. June will come round soon enough.

I wouldn't assume they are starting over with material. Getting a record deal and getting the right deal may take it that long to put something out.
