Well, I was a big fan since 1986 but completely lost interest after 1995, simply because their new music was substandard. This happened to many fans at the time. But you haven't lost the interest completely if you are still here, commenting and awaiting DD14. You were disheartened and disinterested but didn't give up on them totally. And many fans were picked up after 1995 by people that liked what they were doing. True, but that was not until after the reunion of the fab 5.

I think Dom's a great guitarist and I've sort of accepted he's not going anywhere. I see him as using the band to build his own solo career. Nothing wrong with progression but his heart isn't with duran is it? Can't be. Since when did you have to be an "official" member to have your heart in Duran? All of the guys are lending their musical knowledge/talents to other groups/organizations...not just sticking with Duran. Dom performs solo for himself but is part of the writing and recording process with DD plus he travels and performs with them along with being in the videos. Hell yes, that's a great gig! I think he's just as dedicated as the other guitarists...just without the "member" status. But you are right: None of us will never know what really happened within the group regarding different matters. There are always two sides to a story but in the case of DD, I think there are at least five sides to every story.

Sorry this AT has been beaten to death..he did not want to be in the band visa or not..that line in the book is a lie and all you guys know it...he chose not to be there visa or not..excuses excuses..his heart was no longer in it..he didn't get along with Nick etc.. etc..bottom line he didn't show up and the band had no choice but to fire him--it's a business decisions..sure I miss Andy--but if your heart is not in it...why bother..when JT did his bass guitar tour in Nordstrom I asked JT that question and all I kept hearing was unworkable gulf...well JT what does that mean....4 of us are thinking this and Andy was all the way on the other side...I think professorially and from a business aspect all ties were severed...who knows about one last hurrah if he comes back but Dom has been a good addition...I just wish Nick and company would let him rip the guitar LIVE!!!
Yes I think the Warren situation could have been handled differently..he got screwed and we don't know what went on behind closed doors...but that is the past and DD's legacy will always be known as an 80's band but they are like a very few 80's bands still making new music...let's see how One Erection I mean One Direction sticks around..they are churning album after album cause we all know boy band's shelf life doesn't last too long..
I really think the band is shopping for a record label to distribute their album..maybe that is why they have been quiet...who knows...I am patient and understand Duran time..I hope when they do come around it's worth the wait...I do wish they just can give us a sample of one song...it's always the B side songs that don't make the recent albums that bum me out...ie Beautiful Colors and Virus and Salt in the Rainbow...they are still awesome songs that should have been on the albums!!!

The UK Sunday Times reported that AT quit the band in lae 2006, and then issued the following retraction:
"An article about Duran Duran (Wild boys always shine, Culture, 4 November 2007), referring to Andy Taylor's departure, said he had failed to turn up for a recording session in New York and had sent a "blunt message . . . that he was leaving the band, with immediate effect". It was suggested that his departure was "still unexplained". Andy Taylor's departure from the band is the subject of continuing legal proceedings, but we wish to make clear that he was unable to get a US working visa to attend the New York recording session because of administrative failures by the band's management. His departure was not unexplained and he did not leave the band – the Duran Duran partnership was dissolved by the other members. We apologise and are happy to correct the record."
Seemed like management didnt want him to be in New York.

I think he didn't want to be there...the band had no choice but to fire him and who knows maybe the guys gave him so many chances and he would say I'll be there and never show up...who knows but I never saw anyone of the 4 support his views...so that tells me it was his decision and the fact he didn't show up or made the effort to show up..the band got tired of it..and said bye!
And we all know how he felt about the Timbland/Timberlake sessions--I am sure he was TOTALLY AGAINST IT..AND beeaatchED UP A STORM--LOL
I don't even think he wants to travel anymore--be reclusive and spend time with the family--it's his choice but I do miss him..he will always be a part of the Fab 5 and his stage presence is awesome and magical!
