VHS or Beta - Night On Fire
The Killers - Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine (the bass guitar on this one is very JT-esue I'd say)

Amazing! Listened to all them. I can imagine Simon singing HCotW from Reverend and The Makers!

I always thought Information Society sounded like an American take on Duran Duran (especially the vocals) Naked Eyes "Promises Promises"

I always did love Information Society as well as Naked Eyes over here. Well, even though ABBA was way before Duran Duran, what about anything done by them? How about Angel Eyes, & Eagle for example. I use to listen to them all the time when I was younger & Duran Duran always did in a way remind me of them. Group home page: groups.yahoo.com/group/shelbytyler2015

Very Duranesque verse imo. The bass and guitar especially.

"Johnny Chrome And Silver" by Nancy Boy This song is 100% early Duran Duran . Bass sounds like John, guitar sounds like Andy, Drums sound like Roger, Has Nick Synth's all over it. Vocalist does not sound like Simon but the lyrics sound like his more recent lyrics. Great Song! Just listening to this on YT - DD influences abound. Also reminded me of Franz Ferdinand. Thanks - great track. EDIT: Try The Cult - Resurrection Joe. DD bass at least and an storming 80's track in general...

The Killers keep popping up...here's likely one of the MOST Duran-esque tunes
Joyride (listen to the bass guitar and even some Rio-era saxophone!)

Another by The Bravery - not so much the vocals, but man - very Duran first album!

An obvious one is Blur "Girls & Boys" The band's guitarist even said in an interview: "The album was the convergence of a lot of influences. Alex [James, bassist] wanted to be in Duran Duran"

Alex [James, bassist] wanted to be in Duran Duran" That's an incredible song, Alex James is an incredible bassist as well. Blur are releasing their first album in 12 years called "The Magic Whip". It is their first album with original guitarist Graham Coxon since 1999. I can't wait. I'm glad their back, I hated Gorillaz. I hope they tour the states!
