Andy's distortion guitar parts on the verses of "Vertigo" are actually sampled if you listen closely. I can clearly hear the digital truncated sample, most likely from the Roland S-50 sampler when the guitar chords are heard. I am sure he has very little parts on "Notorious"

I can not believe that everybody in the band have such a short memory. My guess is that everybody is being diplomatic as it's a point as moot as it is sore. It clearly was a fraught time, with AT stating he was under duress. Given he was clearly leaving DD, perhaps a deal was worked out in full and final settlement that included a gagging clause - by revealing exactly what happened might infringe this affecting future royalties. Perhaps it would also reveal how little he played - either way DD have always had a memory lapse whenever this subject rears it head. I understand board members interest though - it's AT's Duran swansong from the golden era. The debate goes on...

This info looks correct to me. He spent two days on the album and played on 4 tracks: American Science, Matter of Feeling, Hold Me and Vertigo. However, his playing on the album is limited to three songs, as Hold Me evolved, with Warren playing on the album version of Hold Me. All this tallies with the facts we know from interviews and the music. If he only spent two days in the studio, he can't have played on the early rock version of Matter of Feeling. Andy's full Vertigo riff is heard on the Mantronix Mix, and has similarities to his Tremblin' riff.

I can definitely hear him on American Science and A Matter of Feeling. The other two songs have always been tough for me to figure out. I'm really convinced he plays on Proposition. At a time I believed him to be on parts of Skin Trade. There is heavier guitar mixed in with Nile's guitar on that song and I just assumed it was him. For some reason I have always disregarded him playing on Vertigo. After listening to it for the first time in a while, I do believe it's possible.

Warren has confirmed that he played the distorted guitar on Skin Trade. I think people hear distortion and think Andy, but Warren, Nile and the other guitarist that John hired (forget his name) who probably plays on Matter of Feeling early version, are quite capable of pressing the fuzz pedal. I find it quite ironic that Matter of Feeling [Rock Demo] was once hailed to be THE Andy Notorious track, when now it seems very likely that he does not sing or play guitar on it!

On the AMOF demo on YouTube someone has commented that the rock version was done by AT when the rest of the band left him to work on it while they went to a Grace Jones party...not sure how true it is. First time I have heard the rock demo and I like it

I've always really liked that demo of A Matter of Feeling. It's definitely Andy playing on the demo. I'm even convinced he's singing from 0:21 to 2:20.
