I'm traveling from the US and seeing the Glasgow show. I just saw them in NYC this fall where they played Paper Gods - Pressure Off - Danceaphobia - Last Night in the City.... What are the Chances hadn't been added yet.
I'm interested to see what else changes for the UK set list; trying not to get my hopes up regarding Nick's comment about rotating in obscure old tracks.

The O2 will be yours truly first DD gig in 15 years (don't ask), so expectations are high. Personal wishlist include the aforementioned Skin Trade and New Religion. New Religion was always a killer live track on previous tours imo, but seems to have fallen out of favour.

Will they ever play 'Last Chance On The Stairway' I wonder? (the proper version, not a feeble electro set cut).

If they don't change up the stale setlist, they risk losing the uniqueness of their eventual "farewell tour".

I wonder if any of the band or their entourage ever check out any forums like this one. I seriously doubt it of course but if the band wanted to give the fans what they wanted on the dates, I seriously doubt Dancephobia would make the set list as it seems to be universally hated( I hate it too), yet appears to be part of their recent set from the shows I've read about.

I imagine there's a lot of variables that go into what to play. Nearly every band out there is in a similar boat though... if people are big enough fans that they follow you online and keep track of what's played at the shows, the amount of variety is almost never enough. That probably increases the longer the act has been around too. They've already given off enough of a hint by claiming that 2/3 of their set list will be older material and 1/3 newer. 6 songs is certainly a lot more than what some acts play at their shows too, so I imagine it's tough for them to even consider going above that (although the 2007 Broadway shows and such were an exception).

I don't think the band have the time or more importantly the inclination to peruse too many Duran Duran forums. The fact that JT said he was disappointed with the last album when talking about AYNIN (note he didn't say the sales of the last album, he said the album itself) when many people were raving about it shows they don't really have their ear to the ground when it comes to their core fanbase (you know, the people who buy twenty copies of their latest album the first week it comes out). Who knows? If everybody starts going to the toilet or stops cheering when Danceophobia comes on (or any song for that matter) then the band might eventually drop it from the set list. But that's unlikely to happen, on Duran concert nights Simon Lebon could announce to the crowd that he was just about to let out an extremely moist and pungent fart and most in attendance would go delirious with delight. (Hey there's an idea - maybe replace Danceophobia with four minutes of Simon playing the arse trumpet. Maybe get Lindsay Lohan to hold up scores out of 10 for each one, or better yet she could engage in some compelling and competitive fart-tennis with all members of the band)
