Hi there!
Some of you know that I have a one man band called Bittersweet Machines. Below is a link to my new song "Me and My Monsters". I would be honored if you decided to give it a listen... and if you like it enough share it with a friend and always send me some feedback. I'm always looking for ways to develop and improve as a songwriter. Thx - Matt

That’s really good, I can imagine Mr Le Bon singing it.
(Moving the post to the main board, more people will see it)

Thanks for the nice note and yes... you got me... the production is very Paper Gods inspired... just felt appropriate for this song. As a songwriter and deep student of the craft there is no doubt that Duran Duran is by far my greatest influence and (for good or bad) it comes out in my songs. They are truly top tier songwriters which I think tends to get lost in the DD narrative. Most will reference a winking model on a sailboat before calling them songwriters. But again, thanks so much for listening and the kind words. Means a lot.

Nice track - it needs more *cowbell*
LOL
Seriously, nicely done - what are you mixing in? Sounds like Presonus Studio 1. Cubase? Protools? Cheers.
But seriously bro - *where are the synths?* LOL oh there they are... at the end...
I'd cut some low end somewhere - there's a bit of rumble... it's a bit *boomy*
it's low end heavy. Maybe your vocal. Hard to know where... that synth bass or something... too much... that cello-y bass thing... dial that back a bit... I'm listening a few times... that's a bit too strong... yeah and I'd still cut some low end off your vocal. just a bit of low-cut there... there's so much low end going with the big kick that you need to punch up the mids in your voice and...
now I'm hearing to Talking to Ghosts. I guess it's how you mix. Your preference... the low end is a bit too strong... pushing through too much... could be your monitors... Talking to Ghosts feels like it needs a bit more glue compression on the master...
good work! Keep going!
... but hey I'm picky. Or slappy. Or fretless. Depending on the mood.
