Cherry Lipstick held a Twitter contest that dared people to write a “Lost Treasure” entry for Liberty’s “Read My Lips.” At first, I wasn’t going to enter. Then I had a few drinks and put the song on repeat. And I realized that I actually kinda liked the song. Below is what emerged; thanks to Adam and to the judges (Ruth and...?). www.cherrylipstick.co.uk/single-post/2019/04/07/Lost-Treasures-7-Read-My-Lips

This song has really grown in my estimation, more than any other one in the DD catalog. For me it’s a real guilty pleasure. It makes me think of Power Station performing a cover of a make believe Morris Day & The Time song, especially in the last minute when the band really gets swinging.

Agree that it's a great song IMO, but I'm fan of Liberty in general. When I first heard it I thought "DD can do this?" This cover version makes the song lyric content seem much darker. It's referenced in the Cherry lipstick article, and worth a listen: soundcloud.com/fly-moon-royalty/fly-moon-royalty-read-my-lips

It has its moments, and like karenduran said, it's not the worst off Liberty. But it's definitely like 4th or 5th tier in my personal rankings.
Thanks for posting, Uraniumplayer! Which one was your critique?
