This guitarist is one more of the lot, there are millions of guitarists better than this one, I don't know why they lick his balls for appearing in "What Are the Chances?", I'm sorry, but Warren wipes that man away. Like I said nobody outside knows of Duran or Missing Person knows who WC is....JF has a huge fan guitar base--where is Warren's on 911 Conspirancy theories??? Come on......

I agree TRHCPs UTB & ST are great songs
However I don't know about anyone else on this board
But I prefer this
And this
Just to name two tracks which WC is actually playing on & JF isn't.
I don't give a rats about why WC wasn't in the documentary coz the documentary has nothing to with the creation of DDs music let alone the two tracks I've added to this post. In actual fact the four hearts that were beating in DD at the time were the "team" that created/wrote such magic (of which WC was one) yet if anyone wishes to disagree with me. Feel free!
If I cared about how well known a DD member was or how much a LP sold I wouldn't be an avid DD enthusiast still to this day but rather one who "follows the herd" so to speak. I wouldn't be listening to any DD LP which never made top 10 or matched the success of the early 80s.
All that music has to do is move me & OW & CU actually "DO" move me. What WC does in his private life is his business (like his private life ISN'T what I'm interested in) in fact I have zilch interest.
This may come as a shock? but I actually prefer OW & CU to TRHCPs, UTB & ST
That's just me !
Each to their own.
Lastly if anyone wishes to compare JFs 5 or 6 PG track contribution to what WCs 7 LP DD contribution on the following LPs, N, BT, L, TWA, TY, M & PT
Feel free !
It doesn't quite add up to a fair 'err' trial...........IMO

And that has to do?; Being semi-underground makes you less talented?, please guy, listen to the riff of the Missing persons albums, we are talking from 1982 to 1986, Warren Cuccurullo designed his own guitar "Missing Link", I understand you like Red Hot Chili Peppers as to every poser of what the masses want them to consume,
But with all due respect, "could you stop licking a musician's balls for doing just a f___ing collaboration on one of Duran Duran's worst albums?", thank you so much.

PG great album..sorry u feel that way..once again nobody knows Warren. Everybody knows JF!! And nobody on Duran team mentions WC anymore..why? The album entered the UK albums chart at number 5, becoming their 9th Top 5 album overall and making them one of only a handful of bands who have scored Top 5 albums in four consecutive decades. In the US it entered the Billboard 200 at number 10 and became their first top 10 album since 1993's Duran Duran (1993). In Italy, the album peaked at number 2.

It makes me angry that a guitarist licks his balls for a simple collaboration and point.

Not quite sure it was a "collaboration" in the true sense of the word I mean DD were in one studio on one side of the Atlantic while JF was in another studio (you guessed it) on the opposite side of the Atlantic Wifi does wonders doesn't it ? Just saying how it was that's all & like I've tried to explain in previous threads I don't mind JFs guitar talent yet I have way more respect (in bucket loads) for a talented guitarist like WC virtuoso indeed (SLBs words circa 2008) who actually WAS a DD member If you listen to the 5 or 6 tracks which JF plays on PG they are all similar sounding, when you listen to WCs work on the 7 DD LPs it ain't all the same old same old similarity but rather a variety of possibilities are evident eg rock type like, rhythm Nile R like, soaring solos, eloquent & delicate, soft rock like, liquid guitar like, acoustic balladry, truly beautiful stuff, eargasmic IMO Its a pleasing audio chemical reaction thing. That's how my ears do the processing. JF with or without DD has yet to have the same effect on me.

Like I said nobody outside knows of Duran or Missing Person knows who WC is.... I probably shouldn't be reviving a dormant thread just to stir up $h!t, but when I read this, I just couldn't stay silent. Andre, to put it politely... this is ridiculous. Before Missing Persons even existed, Warren had toured and recorded with Frank Zappa, starting at the tender age of 22. Now, I'm not a Zappa fan. I know very little of his music, and what I do know has left me with the impression that what I haven't heard probably wouldn't be my cup of tea. But anybody who knows anything about music knows that the musicians that Zappa worked with were at the top of their game. His band members were among the most respected and influential musicians in the industry. Let me assure you, Warren's name is known. Is it known by people who've only bought Top 10 records in the last 20 years? Maybe not, but seriously, who cares? Those people don't know anything about musicians. In another post in this same thread, you asked, "If WC is so great why wasn't he even mentioned in the last Duran Documentary??" Well, I have an answer for that-- and it's a reeeally obvious one. You see, there's this little thing called "editing". You have no idea how much Simon, Nick and John (probably not Roger) may have talked about Warren during interviews for that documentary. Ultimately, it's up to one person-- the filmmaker, who has their own vision and agenda-- to decide what makes the final cut and what does not. And clearly, their decision was to focus only on the original members of the band. Warren's omission from that documentary struck me as an egregious and bewildering oversight, and I'd wager that most longtime fans of the band felt the same way. Let me be clear: I'm no WC fanboy lol. In many ways, I don't much care for him as a person. But his contributions to the band likely extended their career into the 21st century-- and by no means is he an unknown.
