I felt sorry for them. So close, knew more than Joe Public They won! You need to give an answer with 0 points. I agree. They were very knowledgeable. Plenty of minor hits mentioned

Very good.
I would say most of their 3rd singles would have been close to being 'pointless' - certainly DYBIS, Meet el presidente.
Would think Skin trade & Careless memories too. Maybe even IDWYL & My own way. Burning the ground too.
It's a pity the clip cut off when it did. They usually tell you all the pointless answers.

Thanks to a reply from Rabbit Dog in 2017, I have found the pointless answers......1 is quite incredible, lol.
"All She Wants Is, My Own Way, Do You Believe In Shame?, Meet El Presidente and (remarkably) Is There Something I Should Know? were some of the pointless answers"

The guy knew DYBIS was the right answer, he was just lying about the name to win the money. You could say 'Like a Virgin' and be totally wrong and win. They should have a rule which says the title of the song must at least be correct, and for the correct band, and it was a top 40 hit but not very well known.

Okay, not familiar with the game show but I thought he was serious about DYBIS and really thought he thought it was Do you Believe in Love....not Shame..

Do you believe in love would have been an incorrect answer, and he wouldn't have won. The answer has to be firstly correct. In the earlier part of the game, the teams have to give (correct) answers with low scores. The team with the lowest score eventually plays the final round, which is the clip you are watching here. Here, you have to provide an answer that is both correct, AND one that none of the people asked gave (knew). Therefore there would be little point in giving The reflex as an answer. It would be correct, but plenty of people know about it. Hence him providing lesser known hits. Hope that clarifies a little (if anyone is interested 🤷🏼♂️🤣)

He knew his stuff about DD as he was very knowledgeable, much more than Joe Average. I think the Shame/Love was a mental mix up in a pressured situation, perhaps a mix up of IDWYL and DYBIS compounded by "do you believe in love" being the opening lyric line from DYBIS too.

"All She Wants Is, My Own Way, Do You Believe In Shame?, Meet El Presidente and (remarkably) Is There Something I Should Know? were some of the pointless answers" At the time of watching it back then I wondered if ITSISK could be a pointless answer - not because the song is unknown, but because its title isn't well known - I've heard folk call it "Please Please Tell Me Now". In many ways it's DDs forgotten hit.
