Will this site show up in search engines? How will newbies or other people find the site? Do we care? Just curious. Obviously right now it's just us DD.com board castoffs.

I for one don't care. But that's just me.

Actually, I've been thinking about this, too! So far this board's not coming up in any Google searches. There's a link on the DD.com links page, but it's sort of buried in with tons of other links.
I think it'd be nice if other DD fans could find this board and come here, but it's up to Mark, I think...

There's a link to this board on the DD website, under "LINKS". I think that was pretty decent of them!!!

We will add your link to our TigerBeat link pages (and tell people about it at our news page as well). That is a start:) To let known your link with the dd.com editor is also a very good idea. It has our vote. Maybe he or she might be kind enough and add you instead. They have to actually. Good luck and good luck with your site (it has been very kind of you to start this one and running it at the first place!) Kind regards, Madeleine and Mark TigerBeat (site devoted to John Taylor) is available at: www.tigerbeat.nl

I care, and that is why I am sad the dd.com board is gone. Just to give an example, when DD played in Eastern Europe last autumn, there were quite a few fans from that area who posted their reviews and pictures, and I think that's because dd.com was the official free site. Searching for "duranduran" and ".com" was the easiest thing to do. I still hope this message board will somehow get the same variety of fans.

I think that while this board is still "under the radar", it will be pleasent to have decent posts, without the other junk. But I think as this board becomes popular, word of mouth will spread, and that once kept secret, will be made public for fans to join..and of course the trolls.

I'm not too worried about the trolls. The worst of lot were probably with us already because it was easy to find the official board and this board was made widely known there before the former's demise.
I expect we will grow slowly until the new album emerges at which point there will be a spike in membership as search engines will by then find us.
