1981's Careless Memories - A clip that actually sounds and looks like it was recorded last week and not of 20 odd years ago. Quality if you ask me, enjoy.

Yeah, it's cool, quite a find. I asked this dude for the other two songs, but, lets say he holds his master tapes in the very highest regard.

Wow, great stuff! Thanks for sharing!
It's so easy to think DD was born wearing Anthony Price suits and singing to throngs of adoring 14-year-old girls, but as this video shows, they came out of the New Romantics movement which was considerably edgier and darker than they ended up being known for. Notice Simon's eyeliner and Nick and Andy sporting very similar blond mushrooms on their heads (no wonder Nick's hair can't handle any color other than blond these days - his follicles are totally fried!).
The audience DD was aiming for was the audience in this video - young adults who were then following the New Romantics movement, the Spandau Ballet and Adam Ant crowd. Initially they were dismayed to find that their main fanbase was pre-teenage girls, but as the band has admitted, once they accepted that demographic and played to it, their 'world domination' was secured. One could argue that playing to that demographic resulted in watered-down music that was less edgy and bold, designed to appeal to folks who were *not* their original, more honest target, but eh! Water under the bridge...although one does wonder if Simon could create a tune as angry and striking as 'Careless Memories' today. Maybe something on 'Reportage' was like that...?
Anyhoo, thanks again for sharing! :-)

think Simon's mum ever realized that he took the sash from the curtains in lounge room?

What makes you think he took it from the lounge, could've been in his room! ;D
