The term 'metrosexual' comes to mind. I personally find that very attractive in a man. There's nothing wrong with a guy who can put a bit more emphasis in his appearance and personal hygiene. Oh how I wish one of those would come into my life. Of course it would be an extra bonus if he were fond of DD as well. ~Laurie Ya know I drive through Thibadoux atleast once a month and by the looks of things I dont think you can count on that, atleast not there.

Some people are homophobic and are afraid of any guy who looks nice. I'd take a metrosexual guy over a slob guy anyday.

mmm well duran have never been a "gay" band to me or indeed any of my friends. i think I'm almost alone out of my (gay male) friends that like Duran Duran - indeed with the exception of Nick who was almost the original metro sexual man they've always come across as a straight band (arty, but straight). either way it doesn't matter.

Interesting comments. I agree with most of what was said. Unless a track has had a really good remix, it gets little play in gay clubs. I used to go out with a friend all the time in the 90s and the only times I really heard much DD played was when I requested it myself and found a DJ who actually liked them. By the way, Izzy, you are very cute. Just wanted to say that. Now I personally am a bisexual female who has been married for almost 19 years. My hubby knows, however that my love for Simon came well before we met and I have a pass as far as any of the guys goes. (Like it would ever happen!)
Before I read all of the other posts and just saw the title, I WAS going to come in here and give a different answer, though. So in answer to the original question: Uhm, maybe it has something to do with Simon kissing Nick and/or John on stage several times over the last 10 years. Of course, to me, it doesn't make me think they are gay. It makes me think Simon knows it makes us hot and he does it to get a rise out if us. Personally, I could care less either way. As long as they keep singing and recording, I'm happy. If Simon wants to keep kissing John onstage, I'm all good with that, too! *hint hint*
