hahahahahaha, what the hell happened to my post? I wrote ".." and Spandau Ballet is instead? was it my subconcious? LOL it's called "censoring", No Mercy.... **rolls eyes**oh..and Mark/Mod....nice way to censor LOL sorry to hear you had a bad experience with your son, gidxg03. it does suck...and you should contact either the venue or DD management regarding it - get your money back on the tix. as a few have pointed out, someone should be able to help you out and make the appropriate changes... as for me and the concerts i've been to....i've been pretty lucky (so far). haven't had any issues with anyone else at the shows and security's been pretty tight. they see any problems or are told of any, they've been right on it...helping out and escorting the troublemakers out. BUT, that's not to say the shows i've been to haven't had their security issues. i'm sure every show that's done has their fair share .... that's why i try to avoid any kind of confrontational issues. as much as i'd LOVE to be pushing my way up to the front to get a better view or dance my tush off like a wild woman, i know there are others around me and i've got respect for their "space". obviously, some people don't have any respect for anyone BUT themselves....(in which in SOME instances, is fine. but not when you're out in a 'crowd')

I'm so sorry about you and your son's experience. I hope he doesn't think all D2 fans are such heartless biotches now.

For my very first big deal concert, Older Sibling got us seats up in the nosebleed section. I could see everything, it was very exciting for me, and I was out of the way of the more zealous older fans.
p.s. If you are taking youngsters to the shows, PLEASE MAKE THEM WEAR EARPLUGS!!!!!!!!! Their little ears could suffer permanent damage otherwise!!

Hi all,
Thanks for the comments. Just to address those that say maybe it was not the place for an 8 year old - He loves music, we took him to the Police concert a few months earlier which he loved. He plays guitar and drums and is really into music so I wanted to encourage him. I am still so f*cking mad at that women. The agression she showed to us was unbelieveable.
Maybe I'll send Kathy an email directing her to this thread. I don't see the point in contacted the Palais management as I don't realistically think they will give a damn.
Thanks again for the posts. David.

P.S.
I've emailed the story to Kathy. I'll post back and let you know what comes of it, if anything.

Good luck, David!
It's up to you if you want to contact the Palais, but at least they'd know their security staff are too afraid of the patrons to do their jobs!! And if you said you were never coming back, and you were telling everyone you knew not to go there because they wouldn't be safe due to the incompetent and ineffectual security staff, maybe they'd listen...
I'm just thankful there wasn't a fire or something, imagine the resulting chaos due to the fact that the security staff was too timid to enforce the fire rules!!

I don't go to many concerts but the crowd at the DD shows are amped. up in front is where most of the die hards dance, this is what I notice.
I cant control the dancing ar DD concerts either but if I whack someone -I try not to- and apologise immediately.
I think concerts are for older kids, 13 or so. I had seen younger children, kinda bored in their seats at DD shows.
I don't enjoy being in crowds because some people don't know how to behave around other people. (if anything, I am overly conciderate)
As it was said here, that happens everywhere.

I was at that show and what I saw of the security was pretty good. If I were you I would have kept going until I found someone who could do something about it. There was no way I would have left the show.

Quick update...
I email ask Katy and she sent a lovely email sympathizing with us over the incident.
I also emailed the Palais Theater who apologized and offered 3 tickets to the Kiev Ballet (to which my son would cry if I told him we were going). They said it was unfortunate we did not inform security straight away as we would have been offered alternative seats or the patron who caused the incident would have been exited. I replied saying we did let them know straight away and none of these options were offered. I have asked for a full refund.
Will keep you posted.
