Duran Duran
80s New Romantics showcase a few new songs and tons of classic hits.
Friday, May 2nd, 7:30p - $29.50 adv/door (Special Lawn 4-pack for $89)
With 30 songs in the U.K. Top 40 and over 85 million records sold, Duran Duran were the torch bearers of the New Wave and New Romantic movements and have been the most enduring band of the MTV-driven “Second British Invasion” in the 1980s. After nearly 20 years apart, the band fully reunited in 2003 (Guitarist Andy has since left the band again) and although their latest album, 2007s urban-groove-leaning Red Carpet Massacre, is more of a mixed bag than albums at their peak, it still provides several standout tracks and all of those classic hooks, funky bass lines, alluring synth runs and typical Simon Le Bon howls and wails that Duranies have come to expect.
“…if a trip to the discotheque is all you need, this should deliver in spades.” - Live Daily
About the Duran Duran Tour: In addition to playing four or five of the better tracks from their latest album like “The Valley” (with groovy dance floor beats) and the should-be-a-classic ballad “Falling Down,” recent setlists for this tour have included a healthy dose of classic hits like Girls on Film, Wild Boys, Rio, Reflex, Save a Prayer and Planet Earth, plus some album favorites like Hold Back the Rain. Opening: Your Vegas
About Lawn 4-Packs: Live Nation is offering specially-priced lawn 4-packs for select concerts at both the Sleep Train Pavilion in Concord and the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View. Upcoming shows with special 4-packs include Rush, Iron Maiden, Chicago & The Doobie Brothers, Brad Paisley with Jewel, the Rockstar Mayhem Festival, John Mayer, Mötley Crüe Fest with Papa Roach, Linkin Park with The Bravery & Chris Cornell, and more.
(For some reason the page says the contest end date is March 27th)
