I found this post from the girl who won the Chicago Mix 101.9 Radio Contest. She got to attend the Cub game with Simon. Would you have loved to have been in her position? What a great memory.

So last week Wed. or Thursday 101.9 the MIX was giving away concert tickets to Duran Duran. I loved them when I was a kid ... I idoled them. The tickets were being given away to the 10th caller and the lines were cleared. I called and instantly got through. Swany from the Mix answered the phone and I asked am I the 10th caller. He replyed do you want to be.. I was like YEAHHHH of course. So just for calling I received two tickets to the concert. Well for the whole week they gave away four set of tickets a day for 5 days. At the end of the 5 days they drew one grand prize winner. So Thursday morning I received the call. I was the grand prze winner. When they called they called my job I was very embarassed first of all so screaming and acting like the desperate excited fan, I did not do ....LOL So they had fun with it they replayed the call on the radio over and over for 3 days. They added crickets when there was dead silence .. and brought in a STUNT WINNER screaming and yelling..LOL It was pretty funny yet, embarassing... But who cares I won... Right...
So the Grand Prize was me getting picked up in a limo with Simon Lebon the lead singer his Security guard his mangers husband and son... It was so cool your just riding with him to the cubs game on the 13th were he was throwing out the first pitch that night and singing take me out to the ball game during the 7th inning. We initially were supposed to go up to his suite for the first inning and part of the second then they ask you to leave and go to your seats but that didnt happen. The bands manager Wendy was so sweet she was awesome and let us stay the entire game with Simon Lebon in their suite.
She chatted and told some stories and was just genuinely a very nice person.
Then the next day was the concert, were we had back stage passes to meet up with the rest of the band and Simon again. They gave me a gift bag which was thier new CD, Their Old classic songs played live on another CD and a DVD of some live performances. I also received a T'shirt, a cool book promoting their new Red Carpet Massacre Cd, and of course a band photo which we had them sign almost everything but the cd's and then got a picture with the band.
While waiting to meet them we met lots of nice people and other fans waiting to get back stage to see them. Everyone was allowed in groups and we were let in last and alone. We got one on one special treatment being the grand prize winner.
While waiting we ran into Mancow who also is an avid Duran Duran fan. He went in before us and was given a jacket by one of the band members and had some large posters and some other stuff he brought to have signed. he was beside himself when he came out with the jacket. Aside from me hating him on radio he was very, very nice. He was so polite and personable I would never expect that. When asking to take a picture with him he wanted to make sure it was a good picture and if not he was staying there to take another.
Over all it was a really great time , good concert, great experience!!!
