Duran Duran at 'the pinnacle of their career' to rock Malta in July
Tickets already on sale from local e-ticket websites
World renowned pop sensation Duran Duran, which sold more than 70 million albums and recorded countless hit records since its inception, will be rocking the Maltese islands on 26 July at the Luxol Grounds.
Duran Duran’s outing in Malta comes at a time when after a 30 year career, lead singer Simon LeBon feels he has hit the “pinnacle of his career”.
In a recent interview on May 14, LeBon currently on a world tour to promote their latest album ‘Red Carpet Massacre’ said: “We seem to have moved into a different phase of our career. We had the reunion. But this time, we’re coming like a real classical band. They [fans] do come to hear ‘Ordinary World’, and they do come to hear ‘The Reflex and ‘Hungry Like the Wolf’, but it’s almost like being the Rolling Stones.”
NNG Promotions, who are promoting the event, will this week be unveiling the full details of one of Malta’s biggest musical events this summer.
The company has also started selling tickets through its website www.nngpromotions.com. The massive event follows a series of unique concerts in Malta organised by NnG which featured, among others, top artists such as Elton John, Roger Waters, Sting and Bryan Adams.
The Duran Duran tour spotlights the band’s strong album, “Red Carpet Massacre” recorded with the help of Justin Timberlake and hit-making produced Timbaland.
Their new music and concerts, which are receiving accolades in the US, are going down really well.
Speaking about the concert LeBon, before performing in Detroit’s Masonic Temple Theatre, told Mlive.com: “The older hits are doing just as well as newer songs such as ‘Night-Runner’, ‘Skin Divers’ and ‘Tempted’… ‘Come Undone’ and ‘Ordinary World’ are mega. ‘Girls on Film’ is one of the absolute high points of the show. ‘Hungry Like the Wolf’ gets them rockin' right at the beginning. 'Planet Earth' gets them singing. 'The Reflex' gets them dancing. 'Notorious' gets them crazy. That's what the show's like. 'Ordinary World' gets them into rock heaven. Then we've got a whole bunch of new songs in the show that are going down really well.”
If this is what we should expect out of Malta’s concert, than the Maltese crowds are in for another pumping night on 26 July.
