A Thank you card or a call should come with in a reasonable time.
I have my girls write thank you notes or a phone call, how ever its me who doesnt get them out in a timely of fashion. I am very guilty of that.
You have a right to be upset. But know you did do what you could as his auntie and in your heart you know you did the right thing.

Mom made me write thank-you's when I was young and now it's second nature. I ALWAYS thank people for gifts by note, email or phone call. I'm trying to get my 4 year old involved more in writing her thank-you's if only it's by "signing" her name.
HOWEVER, none of my school aged neices and nephews send thanks or even say thanks. It baffles me, it really does. I gave my neice a $50 gift card to Abercrombie and Fitch (at her request) this Christmas and she opened it and put it away. Not even an aknowledgement. I love giving and that makes me very happy, but geezzzz!
