Roger: I guess it's the drumming on the last coupla albums that sound average/generic to me. If I pretend I'd only heard the first Duran albums, Arcadia, and AVTAK - then yeah, I'd say he's a pretty awesome drummer. I also quite liked the early percussion effects that we don't really here him do anymore (the intro to the Seventh Stranger, for example). I always liked that stuff alot......gave the songs another texture. Not to split hairs, but I'm pretty sure the unusual percussive effects on Seventh Stranger (as all of SATRT) were done by Raphael DeJesus as opposed to Roger (although I'm sure they worked together on arranging, and who knows, may Rog picked up the wood blocks at some point)!

Yep - that's right. Thanks for refreshing de old cobwebs. I dig that stuff in their earlier work.

WC doesn't even deserve Andy's respect for the way Warren talked about him in public.. they are rivals bla bla bla but WC was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL by talking that way about Andy whilst Andy has never said negative things about him...you don't do that!! you talk with somebody that way when you have the person in front of you who is actually able to talk back! easy Warren, Andy was not even there otherwise he would have told you to shut up his way!! this is called RESPECT towards people, which Warren did not show!!!

cockrullo beat up Andy? Doubt it - I'd put odds on AT, a bonafide bar room brawler over a guy who looks to have glass jaw.

I may not what he has to say about Andy but Warren is the real deal. It was actually pretty refreshing to hear him talk about the sounds he got in the studio acting as "insurance" against anyone who might follow him and try to play his stuff.
Also funny that he specifically mentioned Ordinary World. That song was totally different with Andy. And he's completely right about the verses... though I personally preferred Andy's solo live.

old posts, but still... Warren says "Andy's insecure" - and then on the other hand, ya kinda wonder, "okay.....why was it so important that everybody come to your resteraunt, hang out, etc?". That tour was about the reunion and they had a pretty heavy schedule. I think most, putting themselves in Warren's shoes, would find it odd to expect the band to hang out with him, etc. He just sounds like a guy starved for attention. exactly. plus i look at it like this: the band's a relationship, like dating or marriage. warren's an ex. if you were in the town where your ex lived, would your current significant other really want to have lunch with your ex? most would say no. i'll give warren the benefit of the doubt that he just thought it'd be nice to hang out with them and catch up, but he can't get all butthurt because they said no. I'll actually add something to the whole "Andy couldn't play my parts" deal though. Warren wasn't exactly playing Andy's stuff note-for-note either when he was in the band. Sure, some stuff like Anyone Out There came pretty close, if not exactly the same. But listen to something like Planet Earth from his time in the band and it sounds nothing like what Andy played it originally. On the other hand, Dom usually tries to stick to how Andy played them on a lot of songs. At least for the most part anyway. exactly. i wouldn't want someone new to play it identically to someone else. like you said dom's pretty faithful with his interpretations but does manage to make it sound like him and not just a tape of andy playing. it's hypocritical of warren to blast andy for reinterpreting his songs yet he did the same to a lot of the older stuff when he was in the band.

WC is right, refering that Andy never played OW in perfect quality, like he does (as he wrote it) But, has AT ever mentioned all the songs, composed by AT that WC did not play well? That's a big difference ...

Do you keep in close contact with any of the band members? Oh yea. I'm mainly in touch with Nick Rhodes because we still have things going on. I got something going on with John Taylor too. quote] In the interview I didn't find he's got something with John too ? what happened to see John appeared here ? thanks Jtforever

What a horrible unpleasant person Warren is. So glad he's not in DD anymore. Obviously he is bitter because he's no longer in DD and by his own admission he has no job and no way of making money. They are so much better off with him no matter how good a guitarist he may be. He would have caused them nothing but negativity.
