I am so ticked! My husband's company changed insurance carriers on the 1st and they kept saying nothing would change. WRONG!!! My son's diabetic test strip rx went from $0 to $80 per month! He's on an insulin pump and the supplies are expensive. I'm still waiting for verification that they're covered. If not, we're out about $300/month on them! He got a good pay raise, but it's all going to the meds now. What really bites is that if I'd known it was all going to change, I would have reordered last week while we were still on the old plan. The consolation here is that they change carriers every year, so maybe next year will be better.

As a person with 10 years of experience in the Health insurance industry ALWAYS refill your scripts the week before the renewal date.

Yeah, jen68, we can save about $10 a month on the testing strips. He's on an insulin pump so we test him a BUNCH and our rx is for 450 strips/month. I know I shouldn't complain because a lot of people's insurance doesn't pay as much as ours does. It's just aggravating that they told us everything would be the same. At least they cover the expensive parts of his pump---one of those costs $200/month!

Ours did. The lab that our drs ofice uses is no longer a preferred provider, so now we will have to go somewhere else to get blood work done rather than at their office, which has been nice!
I hope you can find the test strips cheaper on line!
