This isn't the first 70% of the album - It's the album. Everything that follows in February and/or beyond is bonus material.
I've no idea why they went with iTunes exclusively. Perhaps they were given a more favorable royalty deal, or there's some opportunity for heavy promotion through the service.

better conditions, less expensive, a demand? it shouldn't be until feb though, they should give iTunes a couple of weeks tops. it's really effed up forcing this on people, it's downright dictatorial and it will only help illegal file sharing.

I read somewhere Apple makes 19c per 99c track, others say it's as high as 34%. I do know DD met with Apple so maybe they worked out a mutually acceptable deal.
But I still endorse what Blank said...I far prefer a physical cd which I have to wait on.

yes dear, exclusivity means that if you want to get it, you can only get it there, therefore it forces you to go get it there and nowhere else. of course they are not forcing me to buy it, nobody is twisting my arm. but i want to buy it (for all sorts of reasons) and am not allowed to choose where I spend my money - because iTunes does exist where I am. if that isn't forcing, i don't know what is.
you just like to be contradictory randy eh?

talking to you randy is like chasing ones tail, if one had a tail. i love to read, but can't stand to argue in circles. as we say in my country, here, the bicycle is yours (meaning, you win, here's the prize).

And yet another reason why Randalgraves should be kicked from this place He scares people from posting with his negativity and his put downs and his general hatred towards other Duran Duran fans He is a T R O L L and should be wiped pronto

Motives? It's the digital age and why not go with the most recognizable download site?
I will buy all versions and extra tracks.

I wonder if it's really going to be like that : "In countries that don't have an Itunes store, the album will be available through other retailers".
I have a hard time believing this :
Let's say I live in Albania and Albania doesn't have an itunes store. Which store will be able to sell me the album then ? And how are they making sure that that store will only sell to Albanians ?
Seems like a technological nightmare to me.
I'm afraid that in reality it will be : Itunes or no go.

I took itunes off my computer. It didn't mesh well with it-really made my computer slow and sucky. Now that I have a new one, I'm afraid to install it. We got rid of all our i items-ipod, itouch, etc. I just don't like them and found them to be junk.
Long story short, I'll have to wait for the physical cd, which really sucks. But not even DD can lure me back to itunes.
I usually buy their music on day one. Any publicity they could have received from me rockin' out in my SUV will have to wait until February when I feel I can get an acceptable form of the music.

I see it too. And the mix sounds different to me. An extra keyboard part in the beginning of the preview clip. Maybe the youtube mix was too muddy to hear it though.
Publisher is Skin Divers music? That's new to me.
Also, it still says that it's released on 12-14-2010, but the "buy" button has been activated.
