Guys, hate to pee on people's hyperthetical parades, but in the UK songs are not eligible to chart unless they are priced at 40p or more! So if people download the single for free today, it won't count for anything. Those paying to download after midnight tomorrow will have to pay for it and ONLY THEN will it be eligible to chart. Trouble is, how many non-fans are going to do that?

I have to say that I don't think the band is too worried about that. They just want the song out there.

And they can make up for it when people purchase the entire album!

The UK charts are completely pointless. I doubt the band really care about chart positions anymore. Duran will NEVER have another Top 40 single in the UK, unless a campaign of some sort takes off in a big way.
Recently a-ha fans made a great effort via Facebook and others ways and means to get the bands last ever single 'Butterfly Butterfly' into the UK Top 10. It reached #98! Downloads are mainly purchased by kids, which would explain why the majority of the UK singles chart is made up of mediocre R'n'B.

oh if they were worried about that they wouldn't have put it out as a gift. never mind. charting is another ball game now.
