ninetails figured it out.
spoon is "S" plus "poon"
"poon" is then auto edited to "thingy"
so...when you type "spoon" it comes out as spoon.

it doesn't like the word poon, whether or not it has an "s" in front of it.

Poon is also short for poontang, which is slang for vagina. Hence it being shown here as 'Thingy'.
