How cute! I remember my parents doing the tooth fairy thing when I was a kid. I got a dime for each one, but I'm sure the rates have gone up since then!
Wonder how the whole tradition got started, anyway? Is it purely a US cultural thing, or is it done all over the world?

I am asking this so I won't feel like such a bad parent... Has anyone ever forgot about the toothfairy and had their child wake up with their tooth still under their pillow??
Please tell me I am not the only one.

your not the only one.
Best thing we did to make up for it when the tears were flowing. I went back in the room and put my hand under the pillow then by the head board and pulled out the silver dollar out saying OMG look it must have slipped and the Tooth Fairy must have for got to take the tooth. It worked

We let Alec pull his out on his own. He was shocked when it came out. It was so loose, I would have pulled it out a week earlier if it was mine. If you pull it, use a tissue to get a better grip.

Peter GriffinHAHAHAHAHAHA! My daughter has a tooth that is loose and she's hitting 10! She's dying for that thing to fall out. I swear she's constantly messing with it. I'm surprised it hasn't come out yet. damn the force of gravity must be strong with that tooth!

We just lost a tooth in our house two nights ago. We let nature take it's course. The twins are terrified at the sight of blood and if it comes out under it's own terms, it's not as bad.
I have forgotten to put the dollar under the pillow too. I thought I was the only one that did the "OMG the tooth fairy forgot the tooth but left a dollar anyway" bit!
