Hi there I was wondering how you are. The legislation has to do with online privacy. Basically the corporations want to invade your privacy in the name of "piracy".

I had to ask this same question. In my words, it seems to be Congress' attempt at policing the internet and intellectual property. I'm guessing that if it passes, this site would permanently go dark, along with sites like You Tube. While I agree with the idea in principle, but as with most things Congress does, the bill is less about the people of the United States than it is to please the financial backers, such as Hollywood and the media who support SOPA and PIPA.
I just don't understand why the US government insists on focusing their efforts in the wrong direction. They cannot support the sitting president nor make any sort of decision for the benefit of the people who put them in office but they can attempt to take away our rights.
I don't get it.

Because they don't care about us, only the bankers and the lobbyists. Corporations are the only ones who matter.

It seems everyone is against this (as we should be). All parties can come together if you mess with our internet.
Too bad we all aren't as concerned about our other rights as well. Most times we are too busy arguing with each other to even notice there is tons of legislation out there right now taking our rights away. At least this is a start. I'm cautiously optimistic.

You are 100% right. All of us, from the far left to the far right need to realize the true enemy is none of us but those in power. They throw us wedge issues like abortion, gay rights and gun control to fool us while they are robbing us of everything. Slick Willie was pushing one agenda while he signed away many of our jobs and of course W did the same thing as well.

I hear Obama is backing off of this. The unions and elite are angry and threatening to pull financial backing for his re-election campaign if he doesn't change his mind and support it again but I think the peoples' voice is stronger than his buddies pocketbooks on this one.

The 1% were police, judge, and jury on this issue. Since when does a record company or filmmaker, or any other business for that matter have the right to determine the punishment? And they did exactly that. They wrote the law and paid Congress to pass it as written. A very similar version, the PIPA, or Protect Intellectual Property Act, died in the Senate. SOPA has been shelved indefinitely. What we need to do, regardless of political affiliation. is to join together to get money out of politics. There are several sites, here's a link to one: www.getmoneyout.com/Read the various versions of reform bills. Sign the petition. Thank you.
