I used it often to post things online. Most things I posted were things like concerts and things not available for purchase.

That sucks...MU was the most hassle free of all those type of sites in my experience. I used it for unreleased, fan shared live/demo stuff.
I guess if they can't have SOPA they'll just increase this sort of thing.

The 1% shut down a site run by the 1%. There are a zillion other similar filesharing services out there. Big fucking deal.

So you'll either find another service among the many available for your non-movie sharing activities or you'll lament the loss of this one and send shit through regular mail and fall in love with the taste of stamps all over again.
I mean, I've used filesharing services to send and receive documents for various legitimate projects, received music files from labels for professional review. While I did like Megaupload, there was nothing about it that struck me as being "by far the best site out there." I will admit that I liked its ease of use and lack of security issues (according to my computer's antivirus software, anyway), but it was one of many services I've been on either end of that offered the same.

All I was stating was that one of the more popular file sharing sites was shut down - I wasn't implying that I didn't know of others to use and have been. Still....I've read that another file sharing site has decided to close down on it's own instead of being shut down. Oh well, cut one head off the serpent and it sprouts a few more.
