I hope that means a remastered CD (but not one that gives in to the "loudness wars") is also in the works...there is the unofficial 2008 "Russian Fan Club" CD which claims to be remastered - haven't listened to it head to head against the original to be sure (and is a fantastic package, with lots of bonus tracks), but having AT himself do a proper remaster would be cool. Hell, even a "Director's Cut" remix would be awesome to hear!

forgive me for saying this, but when the discussion is about whether or not andy should be in DD threads go angrily on for pages and pages, but hold and behold, a thread about his music and only two peeps show up.
interesting.

My guess is that the idea that Andy is re-editing "Thunder" doesn't spark the passion that saying "Andy should be back in DD" does. Maybe that will change once we have more details on what precisely it is that he's doing.

Maybe he can improve upon it...sure couldn't make it any worse... Ouch. Speaking for myself, I can only say I don't agree with you...at all. Well, OK, so some of the lyrics aren't exactly rock poetry , but the songs are well written musically, and performed and recorded expertly, with Andy's playing in particular being as sharp as ever. I'll admit I'm biased because Thunder was one of the albums that came out right when I was learning guitar (by ear) and it basically helped me learn rock guitar. I still enjoy playing many of its songs today. I also wonder how the double edged sword of being in DD both helped and hurt the album's chances for success. I'd bet that for every Duranie that bought the album only to be disappointed to hear all the very un-duranlike music on it, there was a classic and hard rock fan who never even heard about the album because none of the hard rock stations would play the singles I Might Lie or Don't Let Me Die Young, probably due as much to the (at the time) prevalent cliched perception of Duran Duran (as a teeny-bop formula band with no talent) as anything else. The album was caught in no-man's land from a marketing standpoint! forgive me for saying this, but when the discussion is about whether or not andy should be in DD threads go angrily on for pages and pages, but hold and behold, a thread about his music and only two peeps show up. interesting. LOL that is true...the drama is often more important than the music, isn't it? Still, I think part of the lack of response to this thread is because it's here in the General Board and not in the DD Board. I'm pretty sure that a much smaller percentage of our members frequent this part than the DD related ones.
