I heard in another analysis this afternoon that the UK would invoke certain anti-terrorism laws to storm the Equador embassy. That instantly makes it quite obvious that this is not about the rape charges at all, doesn't it? Without wanting to downplay the seriousness of rape and sexual harrassment, it's not the same as terrorism, is it? Since when are extradition requests issued over this kind of charges? Never in history, I believe. Seriously, why this whole charade involving Sweden when it's so obviously the US government behind it? They must be pushing UK and Sweden really hard behind the scenes. Incredible.

This is one of those conspiracy theory cases. Julian Assange posted 10,000s of US Top Secrets on his Wikileaks website, including locations of secret US military bases.
Then whilst this was happening a mystery woman comes forward and accuses him of rape some years back. This gives the Swedish police and the CIA the chance to raid/search Julian Assange home and take away his computers to see what 'other' US secrets he's got and their sources. It also means Julian Assange could go to prison for 10-15 years and disappear, just what the American Government would love.
Julian is now holding out in the Ecuadorian Embassy, denying this rape case. It may only happen in movies or this for real?

Seriously, this will be in the movies one day. I honestly never felt so strongly about an international political issue since East Timor. It makes me sick to my stomach. We all know how we are fed spin news via government controlled press in the "free" world. It's hilarious when they say President Correa is a leftist (oh, they love that accusation) who controls de press in Ecuador. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Is it true, though? Therein lies the question. Who are you going to believe? These guys who went into Iraq under the assumption of WMD that did not exist, or a little country in South America with no power at all, the David facing Goliath. Please. It's disgusting. Unfortunately, unlike the biblical story, I have a gut feeling this is going to end badly.

But what I don't find surprising is that people will go easy on "their own". I've even looked up people like Roger Waters one of the most acid tongue social critics in music - but their criticisms are muted and they can't help but hold back against baby Jesus aka the cherub, Obama and others in his govt. The Assange case is bad enough, and there's also Bradley Manning. But what about the attacks on Syria, Libya and now Iran.
The most appalling thing was in an AP article surrounding the Libyan US embassy attacks. The article NOW said the Benghazi region has Al Qaeda fighters in it. But ... again they can't bring themselves to admit these Al Qaeda fighters are the people Obama supported against Gaddafi. And it's the same Qaeda terrorists being literally airlifted into Syria, and the bullshiteating media dares to say these are ordinary Syrians fighting Assad. They were the ones who slaughtered people in Houla and elsewhere - two major German newspapers also did their own investigations of this. This blood is now on the heads of ordinary Americans.
