15 years ago tomorrow. I remember that morning so well - waking up to the news and not believing it. I was in London last week and saw some of her dresses at Kensington Palace. So sad

I hear ya, I remember returning home from shopping when a gut-feeling told me to turn on the news. When I got my tv on the CNN channel, I heard about the car accident and thought "oh, Di will pull through, she's a tough lady". A few minutes later, I learned the the princess passed away as a result from her injuries. The next morning, I thought the tragedy was just a bad dream until I saw the morning paper & everyone at in shock over it.

I remember it very vividly. I came home from clothes shopping around 9 p.m. and my sister told my Diana had been in a car accident - it had happened not too long before I got home.
The media kept talking about Diana having a broken arm, and made it sound like she hadn't been seriously injured. As soon as they pulled that car out of the tunnel, though, I knew she had to have a LOT worse than a broken arm. Around 12:30 CNN announced that she'd died. It was awful.
And yet, some good did come out of it, most remarkably the thawing of the Royals. Before Diana's death the Queen was seen as very remote and cut off from her subjects, and after Diana died it was like a wall came down - maybe not totally voluntarily on the Queen's part at first, but it did come down. I mean, before Diana's death would anyone have believed that in 2012 we'd see Queen Elizabeth participating in a comedy skit where she "jumped" from a helicopter at the opening of the Olympics? Honestly, I don't think so.

I live in the US. Mom, Dad and I were on one of our mini-vacations. Dad had driven most of the day ['cept for food/restroom breaks]. We finally got a room, turned on the TV-there was the news about the accident, Diana's horrible accident [and her death because of it ]. I got so upset Right now, there is a life brightener-one of museums in our city, is having a exhibition of alot of Diana's memorabile. [her wedding gown is in one see Diana-tall-enuff-box_the veil is connected to the dress box but lower:the veil is 25 feet long ;D ! I think the box is a few more inches so the veil doesn't get squished ! There's also the tiara and dress that was on the cover of one of the books about Diana. Special pic Some of her non-royal outfits have been included in the exhibit. Photos too [the pic with DD-I'm not sure if it's there_I unfortunately have not been able to get to the exhibit-yet...and any news stations have only shown special things like the wedding gown and veil and the dress and tiara [special In Their Opinion]. There was a *BIG* article in our paper too, with the above mentioned *special things*. jtrocks60
