Simon re-tweeted a e-petition to encourage the UK government to spend more of the cancer research budget on brain tumour research. Because good progress has been made on other childhood cancers, brain tumours are the biggest cancer killers of children. They are difficult to treat because radical surgery and high-dose radiotherapy carry great risks. Even in adults, the prognosis for a high grade (aggressive) brain tumour is poor. I know, because I started my research career in brain tumour research. Please see Simon's Twitter and add your name to the petition.
