Hi all,
Who can tell more about the mono-coloured lp sleeves from Korea and Taiwan. I have seen several in blue and green tone. Are these bootlegs?
I see that the sleeves are copied from regular US releases, but more than that i do not know. Anyone?
Thanks and best regards, Peter

I have quite a few, my guess they are counterfeits.

Thanks both for the confirmation! I will shift these editions to the bootleg-section (sub counterfeit) in my database.
Thanks again and best regards, Peter

I've always thought they were bootlegs, the record labels reveal that. EMI-Capitol would never produce cheap looking labels like that - certainly not without copyright info, logos etc. The sleeves are copies of official Capitol releases etc, but printed with green and white. Does anyone know what these are. Are they VERY crude photo copies of the originals, because the printing process would mean you would have to get hold of/steal the metal printing plates used by EMI-Capitol. You would need huge machinary and also the art of folding-gluing LP sleeves is quite complexed. Printing presses and plates needed.

Those always looked to me like they were left in a window in the sun and the colours faded.
