Maybe this thread is already on this forum somewhere, but I cant seem to find it so here's my little thread.



To begin, the new xbox 720 is nicknamed 'Durango'. I thought this was a rather neat and reminds me of the band whenever that name pops up in the new xbox forums. I know they'll probably change it before release but I just thought it was a neat name.

Eddie Duran (Cody Long) - Lead character in the TV series 'Hollywood Nights'

Robert G. Durant - The lead villain in the Darkman series

Durant (Pokémon) - is a six legged character in the Pokemon series

Jimmy Durante - popular comic and entertainer in the 1930's/40's

Mont Durand - a mountain in Switzerland

Durand line - a poorly marked boundary between Afghanistan and Pakistan

Durante (Italian/Spanish word from the Latin 'durans') - Meaning: During, Currently, In the course of.

Colonel Algernon Durand, C.B., C.I.E. - British officer who wrote The Making of a Frontier (1899)

Asher B Durand - famous oil and landscape painter

Durand Location - a private events and cerimonies venue located in Normandy, Northern France

If you know of any non DD things which remind you of DD - historical or current, texts, images and photos, please drop your ideas and messages here. They could be related to the name 'duran' in some form or remind you of lyrics or chords, or just remind you of something DD. It may be a sign on the highway or a logo on the side of a van - anything!

Seventh Taylor: It took me a while to realise what you were saying. Yes, the Vienna map does look at lot like the Arena era album cover and LP artwork.

Any time the number 514 comes up (particularly when I look at a digital clock and it reads 5:14) I always think of the Hungry Like the Wolf Night Version (127 bpm version as found on the US reissue single, Carnival EP, & Rio US reissue vinyl), because it runs 5:14 (as opposed to the slightly quicker & higher pitched 129 bpm one on the UK 12" single) and it's still possibly my favorite Duran song version, and the shining example of the right way to do an extended mix. For whatever reason that song length has always stuck in my head. I have many other song lengths burned into my brain, like 4:07 for ITSISK, 3:30 for GOF, 4:25 Reflex Single Mix, etc., but 5:14 is the only one that, whenever I see it anywhere, makes me smile and think of D2 instantly.
