The most depressing song for me qualifies as such cause it has the worst lyric EVER.
The song is "Rhythm Is A Dancer" and the line is, I'm serious as cancer when I say rhythm is a dancer.
It just makes me sick.

This one just popped into my head...
'Cry' by Godley and Creme
The video is depressing too, methinks.

Same Old Lang Syne - Dan Fogelberg That song gets me every time! Same here. Another one by him is LEADER OF THE BAND. Geez the guy knows how to make you cry like a baby. My other nominations: BLACK BALLOON - Goo Goo Dolls BUTTERFLY KISSES (damn song gets me everytime...any father who has a daughter will relate to this)

Johnny Cash's version of 'Hurt' is a masterpiece. I have to agree with that one. The video drove the point even further. All those old memories and stuff. Maybe it is because he loved June so much... a lot of people can relate to it.

My Heart Will Go On -- Celine Dion is depressing b/c it reminds me of that damn movie (which I hated) and the story (which is depressing in an of itself)
As for sad songs that touch me: Winter - Tori Amos Hurt - NIN Sad Clown - Sarah McLachlan Sleep - Stabbing Westward Song Instead of a Kiss -- Alannah Myles

I agree with lots of these choices. The first song that came to mind was "Michael You've Got a Lot to Answer For." It took me quite a while after Michael's death that I was able to listen to it again, and I'm not really a big INXS fan. It seems like an offer for help that wasn't answered.

I can't think of any depressing song. It's usually the memory that goes with the song that's depressing.
