And if so, for how much?
(I know, blasphemy!)

If the $$$ were right ($20k+), maybe...
HOWEVER, I would never ever ever sell my Arcadia collection.

For me selling at 20k would be no option at all... Maybe at 30k i will think about it, and that is in Euros....

I don't think I ever could. Even if I went through a period where they were no longer the thing at the forefront of my fandoms, like happened once before, I would never get rid of the things I have that remind me of how much I love them.

Simple answer: nope!
My collection is a priced possesion, I've spent too much time and money on it to part with it. Futhermore...we have to realistic, we will never get back what we invested in our collections. And I'm just talking about the money here, not the time spent.
How many DD collectors will there be who want to take over all the items we have? Sure, each of our collections will have items that will fetch good prices when sold on Ebay but the bulk of our collections doesn't have a great value. Most serious collectors will already have most of these items and how many new collectors will there be in the years to come...not many I guess.
In my opinion you will always loose money when selling your collection. The value of the rare items will not make up for the loss you will have to take on the bulk of your colletion.

>> we have to <be> realistic
and taking this to a further extreme...
none of us is getting any younger, so have you made any plans or arrangements for what would happen to your collection if you were to get sick or pass away?
it's crazy...all of us have so much passion for our collections but outside of a group that seems to be slowly growing smaller, there's not much real care or concern for what might happen to our collections. but at the extreme, do your loved ones know that your might have things in your collection that are worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars each? sure not every single thing i have is super dooper rare and worth a lot, but i do have some things that have sold for over $1000 in the past. and even things that would go for over 100 dollars on the worst day of sales ever.
i've never considered selling my collection. but i have at least tried to lay the groundwork for some plans for it if something terrible happens. that makes me sleep a little better at night!
i wonder about all of you?

I sold mine in 2004 and have spent ten years buying it back.... Why did you do that? (I mean both selling it & buying it back)
