;D I still can't get enough of this New York Boardway musical production*sigh*
*Listening to the Broadway Soundtack*
Last December I went to the opening night of Jersey Boys in San Francisco, the true story (of the 60's pop group) Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons. For those who are not too familiar, classic music from the late 60's, that include: "Sherry", "Big Girls Dont Cry", 'Dawn" & many many others. At first I didnt think it was going to be all that, but a friend of mine had seen the production in New York in 2006 & highly recommened it. Well I didnt have to wait too long, the production has come to San Francisco to the Curran Theater. Much to my anticipation, I was in total awe when I heard these young men singing to the almost to the exact of the original four seasons. The story line had everything from when they were young guys singing in the streets, to dealing with the mob/gambling, women, going to jail, crisis at home because they were on the road so much, & even arriving to the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame.
I can only briefly state that, as a musical it will have you singing along, even if its your first time hearing the music. I will go again before the production leaves to Los Angeles in May. I dont want to much away from the story, all I can say is if you're interested & not sure, I will gaurentee you wont be let down.
At the 2006 TONY AWARDS "Jersey Boys" won for BEST MUSICAL & John Lloyd Young(Frankie Valli)
, won for Best Actor for Jersey Boys
& there is a small bit that I will give away, that I didnt know until I saw the show, but Joe Pecsi, had alot to do with the final creation of Jersey Boys.
Anyone else has seen the musical???
