After reading this interview and hearing that catchy single on the radio a few times I will most definitely check out this album. Kudos to Andy. It really seems to have been a fruitful collaboration.

The Tings were in Toronto last week a a sold out show - didn't catch them unfortunately. But here are some snippets from local press on their work with Andy Taylor that might interest:
From Toronto Star:
Q: And you wound up with Andy Taylor producing.
KW: We both knew Duran Duran songs, but it was kind of a generation older than me. My parents would have liked Duran Duran. We met Andy in Ibiza and, to be honest, I just thought he was some crazy dude. He’s been in Ibiza for a few years, locked in a studio — I don’t know what he’s doing, but he’s doing something — but then he became our friend. We had no plans to work with him. It’s always been just myself and Jules in the studio, writing and recording ourselves. But we slowly became very close to Andy, and I got that photograph of Diana Ross out and said to him, “Look, can you imagine what music was playing?” And he was, like: “Yep, I was there that night. I went with Diana Ross to the club.” He just blew our minds. Being at CBGB’s and seeing Blondie playing “Rapture” at that perfect moment in time when disco and New Wave met, every style of music that we love, he was around for all that. So he helped us fall in love with it.
Q: Well, the record sounds like it was incredibly fun to make.
KW: We probably had the best time in the studio we’ve ever had. In a way, it’s opened us up to the idea of working with someone else on the next album because we had no idea it would be so much fun.
