I have a sort of weird question regarding Duran releases from 1985 to 1990. I bought all these records back in the day from my record-dealer in Germany. Good old days My 'A View To A Kill' soundtrack LP and all of my 'Notorious' related 12" Maxi Singles have 'Printed in Holland by EMI Services Benelux B.V., Uden.' on the sleeve, but the record itself says 'Made in EEC' and have the 1C ... number on the label. The 1C is or was a EMI code for Germany, whereas 1A stand for Dutch pressings. The Rights Society is GEMA/STEMRA. Is it reasonable that all these records were pressed in Germany, and the sleeves were simultaneously printed in Holland? If so, why was it? At the time 'Big Thing' was released, EMI removed the codes (i.e. the 1C, 1A, ...). All of my 'Big Thing' related 12" Maxi Singles still have 'Printed in Holland' on the sleeves, and the records still say 'Made in EEC', but no sign of an '1C' or '1A'. The Rights Society also is GEMA/STEMRA. So I guess that 'I Don't Want Your Love', all of the 'All She Wants Is' 12" singles, and 'Do You Believe in Shame?' were also pressed in Germany, whereas only the sleeves were made in Holland!? The 'Violence Of Summer' and 'Serious' 12 inches only say 'Made in EEC'. No code and no indication of where the sleeve was printed. Only BIEM/GEMA on the label. Any ideas about all that? Would be cool to get some info on this!

Some French sleeves were printed in Holland but the vinyl was printed in France.

Some pressings were pressed in Holland for the German market, but there are also pressings pressed in Germany for the Dutch market.

Some pressings were pressed in Holland for the German market, but there are also pressings pressed in Germany for the Dutch market. I know that the 'Wedding Album' related releases were made in Holland and have a BIEM/STEMRA indication, and were also distributed in Germany. Have an idea or an example for the 'Notorious' and 'Big Thing' related records? I mean how to identify!?
