OMg its just so hard to watch. Everyone's lauding the heroes and celebrating and that poor kid (shawn) looks like he wants to crawl under a rock. I hope he can salvage his life. Poor baby.

Is this the kid that was kidnapped and gone for four years, and he was just found last week?
I'm sorry, but the last thing I would do with *my* kid is parade him through a million television shows after that trauma. Just let him BE!

I agree - poor kid. I was watching Fox News today and there were several people on there slamming the parents for putting Shawn on Oprah like that. On a related note: Shawn's parents went on the Montel Williams show to seek help from "psychic" Sylvia Browne shortly after he disappeared. She told them he was dead and that his body could be found in a wooded area. Check out www.stopsylviabrowne.com.

He's a gorgeous child. But you can see how haunted he is in his eyes.
Sylvia Browne is a quack.

I didn't have a problem with him doing the interview with Oprah off location. It was well done and I thought he handled himself well.
He did look quite uncomfortable in the studio audience, though. I'm guessing that it was his decision to be present in the audience so he could meet the police officers who put all of the pieces together.
Actually...I think the sets of parents for both boys are approaching the situation correctly by not demanding details and answers from them. It's got to be a very difficult situation. The bottom line is that they are lucky to have been found...especially Shawn, after so much time.

Holy Crap...that boy has already done interviews? When I saw the topic for Oprah, I thought they were just going to be talking about the story, not actually having the boy there!
He has been gone for four years for goodness sake...let him re-adjust already!

I dryed my eyes out watching the Oprah interview. As said before you can see the vacant look in Shawn's eyes, we can only image the horrors he had to live with. My heart goes out to him and his family. I hope he can come back "home" and be "normal" again for his sake. jos

I saw that on Thursday. So sad! And, I didn't realize they had sought Sylvia Brown's help. Wow to what she said vs. reality. I'm sure there will be some sort of "spin" on it - "Well he was in a wooded area (his apartment had wood on it), he was dead (his innocence died)..." edited typo
