I’m Remco and I’m from Holland and my question for the band is: Which song of idea for a song took the most time to record. Are there for example songs which haven’t made a record in the 80ties but where picked up again a decade later? Or parts were written for a song and used years later?
“During album sessions, we create an excess of tracks, but they usually do not end up getting finished. Some are more developed than others – mostly, they do not have lyrics. This is why we tend not to return to older material when we commence work on a new project. However, there are a few treasures hidden in the vaults, so one day, when we finally do an anthology, we thought it would be interesting to complete some of these. Thanks for the question. The Band”

A few treasures. I know there are quite a few! Looks like we have another album on the cards folks, DD official Anthology box set. Start saving now for the multi gold vinyl edition.

What a tease - like what treasures? An anthology would be great, but I think we’ll see Warner releasing an updated compilation to replace Greatest before that happens. Any anthology would have to be filled with rarities, alternate mixes and demos (like the recently unearthed AVTOK 12” mix) before this diehard opens his vault for the purchase of another repackaged product offering. A great example for Warner to follow is the recently announced Paul Young 4 disc compilation by Sony, Tomb of Memories. Here are the details at Super Deluxe Edition: SDE-Tomb of MemoriesJust add a DVD/Blu-ray of all their videos in high definition and keep the price reasonable, and I'd shell out money for that kind of anthology.

I wonder if something like this will be on the agenda sooner rather than later. Given that the album launch and touring will be over in December (unless I've not yet spotted 2016 dates) will DD take a break to commence work on creating some kind of package? If they do I hope they'll welcome input from fans given it's most likely us that'll buy it, not the public at large.

maybe someday if we're lucky! None of us are getting any younger though, bring on the era of Paper Gods and then open the Vaults!
I am sure things will get trickled out in the next series of remasters and the remasters after those!
Jimmy Page has once and for all closed the Led Zeppelin vaults 35 years after Led Zeppelin ended, he promises there is nothing studio wise left. I hope Duran never ends and I hope we don't have to wait for 35 years after they end to get all the gems!

Missing lyrics? Maybe Simon wrote them and The Controller didn't like them....

even more interesting if they left them alone and didnt try to finish them - dont want 2025 version of Dont Look Back - I want to hear the 1984 version!

Great. Now people are going to dwell on a possible future anthology like some are still dwelling on "Reportage."

I am not too pessimistic. Should they one day start lacking creativity, they might as well change their mind and release stuff which was gathering dust on the shelves...!

That would be great! But I just don't see wasting time on dwelling on something that may never come to fruition. If it does, wonderful! If it doesn't, I'm not going to cry about. Paper Gods is going to be released in a few months! Pressure Off is out! These are certainties...not wishful thinking.
