If so, would you happen to know what happened to the scene at Club Skinny/Arcadia/etc. after Romo came and went? Was the 80s nostalgia still sustained for a while after?

My band Massive Ego was born from the Romo scene. We performed at both Club Skinny and Arcadia. As you are probably aware it was short lived scene that actually celebrates it's 20th Anniversary this year. After Romo fizzled out in Camden and at Club Kinny I remember the promoters started an even shorter lived 'Teen Punk' kind of scene which spawned a couple of bands also. There's a FB page called Romo20 which is ran by Simon Price the Melody Maker journalist who originated the scene. Apparently we are the only Romo band still in existence although we are more of Industrial, Gothic, Electro flavour these days, although my Duran credentials will always be present in my music. www.massiveego.co.uk |
