Going the end of March - anyone live there/been there? Any recommendations for restos or shows? Would like to see one of the Cirque shows, trying to decide between O or Love...

Went to Vegas, the only show we saw was the free ones outside of Treasure Island and the Mirage or was it Ceasars Palace.
I did have one of the best vacation there

First question, is this your first time in Vegas? If so, go to Vegas.com, it's a valuable resource for all the show, events, nightclubs etc.
If you never been there before I recommend seeing outdoor free shows, like the fountains at the Belliago, The Sirens Pirate show at Treasure Island (TI), the volcano at the Mirage, the light show on Freemont Street, and indoor shows such as the flying trapezo show at the Tropiciana or the masquerade show in the Sky at Rio. These little shows run throughout the evenings (depending on wind conditions) and last around 15 minutes or so. Also touring all the elaborate hotel lobbys could take a fews days in itself.
For shows, I've heard great things about Love and hope to see myself in February.
Fun little tip: At the Hard Rock Hotel, They have a restaurant called Mr. Lucky 24/7 - if you ask for the Lucky special (it's not advertised on the menu). You get a steak, shrimp, sides and a salad, for I think $7.77. (I order all the time but the price is escaping me, but I know it's a great deal.)
Oh when you get to Vegas, look for the magazine called the What's on guide (usually at the front desk). It contains great coupons (half price on shows, dinners, nightclub admissions.) and lists all the events up and down the strip.
Have fun!!!!!!

My father lived there for a bit, so I went a few times. I've heard fantastic things about Love, but I've not seen it yet.
I like the odd stuff, like the museums for Liberace and Elvis Presley. If you've got a few days there, doing something offbeat for a few hours one day might make yout trip even more special.

My Mother-in-law lives there so I visit occasionally. A lot of the new casinos are very interesting but I love Ceasar's Palace and the Forum Shoppes there. You could spend days there and not see everything.

I went there several years ago, loved it. I did see a Cirque show while I was there. Great show. I stayed at the Mirage. Sounds like others have already given some great info. Have fun! I'm jealous!

There is so much to do there, it all depends what your interest are, I havent see it but I have heard that "LOVE" is excellent. If you love animals, you can go to the Mirage & go to the "Secret Garden", where you'll be really up close to dolphins above ground & below under ground, they also have white lions & tigers, panthers & an African Elephant. The price there is reasonable. Depending who is in town you might find some celebs at the "Rainbow Bar & Grill (its accross from the Hard Rock) at night, I went in one evening to see if I run into Brian May of Queen, well I missed Brian May like 30 min, but I did get a picture with the Danny the Basses & Jaime the guitarest of Queen (April 2006) & on another evening (Oct 2006) Rick Savage of Def Leppard.

Two Words... TOM JONES!!! Hubba Hubba!!! His show is fabulous - for an old guy (66), he can belt it out like nobody's business! When I saw him in December, he even covered Hoobastank's "The Reason." Not to mention he's a big old sex pot (emphasis on old ;D ) OK, OK, if he's not your cup of tea (do the Welsh drink tea?), then I agree with: "Also touring all the elaborate hotel lobbys could take a fews days in itself." There are things that will amaze you just to see. What always gets me is the amount of money they must spend on those hotels. My favorite is the Venetian. It's like a little village in there, complete with gondola rides and singing gondoliers! The free shows are always a first-timer's best bet also. I also love walking the strip at night, people watching at whatnot. I've also seen the Legends show at the Imperial. That's the impersonators show - it's mid-priced but worth it! Very Las-Vegas-y type of entertainment with show girls and Elvis look-alikes. Oh! And Barry Manilow is there too. Another one worth every penny GAH! I could go on and on. I love Las Vegas! *skips away singing "What's New, pussycat..."*
