Am I the only one who winces and grabs their face during the surgery parts?
The liposuction just seems so violent, and I can't believe that tissue damage doesn't occur with the procedure...but I guess it doesn't.
Then, there's the rhinoplasty...the hammer to the nose bones and the surgery up the nostrils! ACK!

Ewww! I can't stand to watch ANY kind of medical shows. In fact, I try to stay away from anything at all medical. There have been a few times when I've had an ailment (a sore shoulder or post nasal drip for example) and looked on the net for answers and remedies. I get so grossed out that often I can't even read the entire article. The human body is the grossest thing ever. I think it's safe to say that I'll never have a career in the medical field.

I pray I never have to have an operation of any sort, let alone cosmetic surgery, as I am terrified of any invasive medical procedure starting from needles and the thought of undergoing general anesthesia makes me claustrophobic.
Now while I understand that there are some people out there who really do need it - be it because they've had accidents that have left bad damage or simply because mother nature wasn't fair - I can't understand those who use it as a crutch, ie, change this, change that and my life will be better. It becomes like a drug addiction.

I had my nose fixed last year at the same time I had to have sinus surgery. My nose had a bump on it that bothed me. Nobody else really noticed it, but I did. I'm glad I had it done, but even now a year later, if I squeeze the top portion of my nose or if I get bumped with my glasses on it hurts like a m.f.
I used to hate medical shows, but I am now addicted to the Discovery Health Channel. It amazes me the way doctors can put people back together.

I can't watch any medical shows, much too graphic for me. I'm squeamish.

For some reason I have a sick obsession with them. I love Extreme Make Over, Plastic Surgery Before and After - you name it. I think I started to watch them to help me get over my fear of having a tummy tuck. Still havent gotten one yet but I feel much better about doing it.

I can put up with things like that. I also had my nose fixed after breaking it when I was little and it isn't that bad afterwards, you just have to remember not to itch it.

The liposuction just seems so violent. Then, there's the rhinoplasty...the hammer to the nose bones and the surgery up the nostrils! ACK! I occasionally watch these shows. Watching liposuction makes dieting so much easier. And the hammer thing is even more disgusting. I admire people who have the courage to have surgeries like that. I wish a had the courage to get my nose done.

I can't watch the actual surgery, but I find the results interesting.

I like watching to see the people who've undergone liposuction and boob jobs writhing in pain during recovery. C'mon peeps...it's FAR less painful to just go to the gym than it is to have your fat sucked out.
With regards to rhinoplasty....if you need it, get it. I've had several friends who have made drastic improvements over their looks, their self esteem and, by extension, their social lives with a nice nose job. I say, "well done" for having the balls to go through with it. OUCH.
