You know, don't put the dogs through any further suffering by putting Vick in a pen with them. Put Vick and all the other sick shits in a pen, let them fight each other and then execute whoever doesn't perform well. If that doesn't sound good to them, WTF do it to dogs? ? I hope he loses everything and learns that karma will come around and give him a GIANT kick in his cajones. BTW, Clairestansfield's idea of the rape restraint isn't too bad either. Asshat, asshat, asshat.

Well, I guess Michael Vick doesn't need a trial. Apparantly everyone here has ironclad proof that Vick is guilty. Oh wait, that's not true, so how about we do what the Constitution tells us to do and consider this man INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.
Seriously, this lynch mob mentality is going way overboard. All we know is that Vick has been indicted on these charges. He hasn't been proven guilty, we haven't seen any evidence, and he hasn't had his day in court. What if he IS innocent? Has anyone ever considered that? In 1994, our great wise federal government took Vince McMahon to trial, confident that they had enough evidence to send him to jail for a long time for distributing steriods. What happened? Oh yeah, Vinnie Mac was aquitted.
Look, I'm not defending dog fighting. I'm an animal lover, and what happned to these dogs was sick and horrible. If Vick is guilty, he should do the full sentence and be banned from the NFL for life. But we don't KNOW if he's guilty. Let him have his day in court, let the evidence be shown. Chances are if he really DID do these things, he's gonna get convicted. This isn't the L.A. justice system, where they can't seem to convict anybody (Rodney King cops, O.J.).
Tell you what though: the man should be allowed to play ball unless he is found guilty. What if he's suspended and then beats the rap? How's THAT gonna look for the NFL? Vick's people will play it as a young black man treated unfairly by the NFL...and he would be right. Shouldn't a person have the right to earn a living during a trial? None of this sounds good, but remember we STILL live in a free and democratic society (despite the best efforts of BushCo) and that means that rights extened to everyone, even those we don't like.
BTW I heard Tom Brady is involved in cat fighting. Herm Edwards is a huge sponsor.

I guess the dead dogs and fight equipment in his yard wasn't enough evidence.
Look, I understand where you are coming from..but It's like being caught with your hands in the cookie jar, this one.

As a private entity, the NFL recently adopted a much tougher conduct policy that says they can suspend a player even if not convicted of a crime.
They've utilized it on a few other players - one pulled over for DUI but was under the legal limit and another facing charges for involvement in some brawl outside a strip club. While I'm not a rabid football fan by any means, I think it make sense for them to do this, b/c even though the behavior may fall short of a conviction, it still breeds contempt for the league overall. It also makes advertisers wary, which is where their money/salaries comes from.
As far as the legalities, I understand the need to let due process play out, but his plea of ignorance is weak at best. You can ask people to respect the process, but it's pointless to ask people to abandon their common sense when they read about this.
Even if he isn't convicted, at the very least he bears some responsibility for what went on on his property. In that respect, any involvement in something like this will reflect negatively on him, likely for the rest of his life. An acquittal won't change that.
(Just as an aside: I don't think the McMahon case is the best example to make your point. Yes, he was acquitted, but given the recent Benoit tragedy and the finding of steroids in his system despite Vinnie's "new and improved" testing system... not a great example of someone who is innocent in the true sense of the word.)

The case began April 25 when investigators conducting a drug search at a massive home Vick built in rural Surry County found 66 dogs, including 55 pit bulls, and items typically used in dogfighting. They included a "rape stand" that holds aggressive dogs in place for mating and a "breakstick" used to pry open a dog's mouth.
oh yes....If I owned that place, that I paid a cool few million for, Id never cheak on it or go to it because I like to buy things and never use them.
one thing...if he's INNOCENT...um...why would he pled out??? if he's INNOCENT, then he wouldnt have to worry about a trial would he because he's INNOCENT and he would get off.
no matter how you put it (INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.) he got boned. he got caught.

Isn't it your responsibilty to know what goes on on your property, even if you don't live there? Likely a moot point here anyway, there's too much evidence pointing to his direct involvement. Federal prosecutor's also have something like a 95% conviction rate, so if you're indicted you may as well plan on going away for a while.
