There is a recording of Orson Wells somewhere doing a voice over for "Farm Fresh Pea's" (or something) He goes on a tirade about how he is supposed to be saying it and asking who wrote the awful add.
Bobby is just being himself, if they wanted a more energetic reading they shoulda hired someone else.
